Maria von Linden Lecture 2023

In October 2023, we had the great honour to welcome Dr. Sharon A. Tooze,  PhD, The Francis Crick Institute, London, UK, who discussed "The Role of ATG Proteins in AUtophagosome Formation".

Maria von Linden Lecture 2022

In June 2022, we were delighted to welcome Prof. Dr. Blanche Schwappach-Pignataro,  Dean and Board Member, University Medical 

Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), who discussed "Regulated Targeting to the Endoplasmic Reticulum in the Context of Sterol metabolism". 

Mentor matching

In November 2022, we held a matchmaking meeting where mentors introduced themselves and mentees chose a mentor.

Kick-off meeting

At the kick-off meeting in July 2022, we met for the first time - with over 40 participants! - and introduced the Athene Mentoring Program, our goals and objectives, and how mentors and mentees are brought together.

How it all started

On behalf of the Equal Opportunities Commission of the Faculty of Science at the University of Tübingen, Prof. Dr. Tassula Proikas-Cezanne initiated the Athene Mentoring , i.e. defining the structure, flyers, recruiting participants, organizing the first training workshops and the kick-off meeting. She was supported by Prof. Dr. Katharina Foerster, who took care of the agreements between mentors and mentees, and Wiktoria Palka, B.Sc. and Maximilian Haas, M.Sc. who implemented this website.
